Rating by category:
They do not have any rooms with 2 double beds as indicated on Booked.net. All rooms have only one king bed or (very few) have two twin beds. Despite this misleading information, the hotel was clean, comfortable and enjoyable.
No rooms with two double beds. Rollaway / additional twin bed costs extra (in my case, extra bed fee was more than the cost of the room / night.)
Five star physical plant. Excellent location. Great off-season value. But it is not a five star hotel. Not one English speaking TV channel, no CNN International, no BBC, no English news! The telephones have no instructions for use and no local directories. No food service at the pool. Wi-Fi in the rooms was problematic. Front desk often could not exchange currency and would never give you US Dollars! Could not use credit cards for payment of beverages. Lot of little annoying things. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay but it ain't five star yet.
It is located 5-7 minutes walk from the ferry. Big beutifull rooms.
Unfortunately it was raining all our staying so we didn't enjoy the pool and the beach. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing. Renting a golf car was almost twice expensive than renting it on the street.
we love the room, location is good.very quiet and relaxing.
very lovely stay at the hotel, we booked the suite delux which was much larger and more comfortable that the standard rooms, location great, breakfast buffet included was an added benefit to booking the hotel.
only problem was that we could not access the internet from the room due to some type of blockage. this would have been a bigger problem if we had to do business. the hotel tried to assist but didn't know why the room couldn't get the signal when others could
The Privilege has an excellent location at North Beach on the island. the accomodations are wonderful, the staff friendly, and the service impeccable. One note, as the Privilege is in the middle of a small tight knit community on the small island, they attempt to not embrace the local merchants and community by roping off their beach area and banning the merchants from their "area". One would love to see management understand that they can contribute to the local economy by just allowing free enterprise. Never the less, we had a wonderful vacation and would go back tomorrow.
Very clean, spacious rooms. Extremely close to the action. The beach out front was a little busy for my liking, although a more tranquil and larger beach was a short walk away.
Ask for a room away from the street side. There is a school across the street and the children are up early in mexico. The staff is eager and willing to upgrade or change rooms as necessary.
really nice room - excellent staff - beautiful scenery
No water sports offered - limited menu - no night life offered
The friendly staff, proximity to the beach and room with a fantastic view
The fire lights in the bedroom lit the room every three seconds (we wore eyemasks), the shower took a couple of days for the staff to unblock it, and the room was more for design than functionality
The breakfast buffet was great everyday
They were nit the greatest at keepng scheduled appointments and never got a second cur of coffee other improvement in scheduling activities and keeping with promised times and highe quality service it was a great stay
Very nice rooms Excellent location. Nice pool, friendly staff. Even The basic room is very nice too. Clean and modern
The food.I was here 3 years ago, when they first opened. Food was awful then, but I gave it a chance and time to improve. I was also there with an all inclusive package, so I figured food is not as good when included. WRONG! Food (except breakfast) is disgusting! even a simple Hamburger.Chewy, bottom of the line meat, cold dishes..nice presentation though! There are so many excellent local choices I would recommend eating elsewhere. Ask locals recommendations.Check-in is still a super unorganized. Poor set up by management.Design and construction failures and some maintenance slip ups in rooms;huge smelly/moldy water leak in toilet area wall, non working kitchen faucet.Cheap deals bring in some loud & trashy guests
Great location and amenities.
Room service food was terrible. Landscaping around the pool is under construction/needs to mature.
The rooms very clean and spacious, the pool really nice and hot tubs for free, the Internet is available throughout the hotel
Location is not right on the beach
The staff was very nice but not very informative. When we needed more towels, money exchanged or help getting a cab we were told they didn't know what to do. They were pleasant but with a lot of new staff training, we had to go out of our way for what my families hotels did no problem.
The staff appeared confused with our drinks, trying to overcharge for items we didn't order. We felt like we had to double check everything rather than just enjoy and relax. Again, staff was nice just unsure of what they were doing.
Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend that the hotel limit renting out the rooms near the school and road construction or at the least put their week long guests in a more quiet area of the hotel.
